What is a Division Representative?
A Division Representative, or “Division Rep” or “DR” for short, is an active APA member who embodies the “spirit” of APA League Play—meeting people, having fun, and promoting fairness in the sport of pool. As a representative of this division and Piedmont APA, they act as a liaison between the league office and Piedmont APA players, while enjoying a higher level of APA involvement and responsibility than the typical player.
A Division Rep provides support to the League Operator while giving teams and players another point of contact and an additional source of information. Think of a Division Rep as a valuable “link” in the chain of communication between the league office and players, passing crucial information back and forth between the players and the Local League Office.
Requirements for consideration of Division Reps –
Division Rep Test – Anyone wanting to be a Division Rep will need to (1) Fill out the DR Application (2) Complete the DR Test and pass with at least an 80%. (3) Have an in person interview with the Piedmont APA League Operators(s) before moving to your trial session as a DR.
Division Rep Requirements –
• Must be an active APA member for at least 3 sessions.
• Knowledgeable about the game itself, being approachable is important and should be of good character with a reputation for being unbiased/fair.
• Division Reps must play on a team in their division or on that night.
• Know the Rules: The division representative is the “go to” person in the division. Division Representatives should be knowledgeable of APA rules and Local By-Laws, and possess knowledge of where to locate APA rules and Local By-Laws. If you do not have a current Official Team Manual (OTM), we will provide one to you or you can choose to use your APA app.
• Remember that as a Division Representative for Piedmont APA, you are representing APA. All APA rules still apply to you, and in a sense, you will be held to a higher standard due to your title.
